Slow,
Suggest a place and date. I would come depending upon my availability.

Hey Slow! I'm planning two weeks off next year, and want to come back to Wyoming. I was thinking of Jackson's Hole because I've been there in the past and still am in awe when I look at the pictures.

If you pick a date, I'll try to work my vacation around that.

I saw that Gros Ventre has group sites available. I stayed there back in 1976. I looked at the web site, and I don't think it has showers.

Teton Vallel RV Park has many more amenities for those who don't like to "rough it".

I'm getting excited!

Slow, the date might make a difference in how many people can come and, therefore, how big of a camp park you need to look for. So, perhaps you can give us a rough idea of what month you are thinking about? Or, did you already suggest it and did I miss that?

...consider having it the weekend after the Pamplin Grove Redwood Gathering...folks could make one and then the other on the way home...or just yours...if in August, find a nice cool place for it...no one wants to camp in 100*weather............

we are thinking new fork lakes madjack by pinedale and its in high elevation good chance it won't be hotter than mid 80s. even if the low land in wyoming is at 100. most the time wyoming in the hottest summers doesn't get much to 100 nor does it stay there long more than a day or so.

at high elevation on a 100 degrea day the hottest I have seen it was around like 88.

even if we don't do new fork lakes. it most likely will be in high elevaton and moutains due to the popularity of the photo views.

its the first thing people want to see when they come to wyoming not more sage brush or farmland.

they come to wyoming to see moutains. and we want to hold it close enough so people can be near yellowstone park so they can easly go see yellowstone or the tettons in jackson.

it would bum a lot of people to come all the way out to wyoming with out being able to see yellowstone or be in a place out of the way.

wood butcher is thinking like august 17th though 18th.

a lot of this is timing on getting a place here. its kinda hard to resever a group spot a head of time in wyoming on something like this.

when is pamplin grove and we are still working on it.

all the stuff is not set in concrete and set to change right now.

depends a lot on national forest service and when we can get a group reservation.

we are like looking at 3 dollars a camper or person on the new fork lakes spot by pinedale.

so that is way affordable.

gathering

Postby tjx » Tue Jan 03, 2012 9:52 pm

Sounds like a nice idea.
 Might be nice as mentioned before either the weekend prior to or the weekend after the IRG which is in July. Dates should be posted soon. Maybe would get people on way out or way back to stop in and spend a night or two in your beautiful spot of country.
